A recent leak from an industry insider may have revealed the setting for GTA 6. The leaker, who goes by the name of GTA 6 News & Leaks on Twitter, has a history of leaking information about Rockstar Games projects. In a recent tweet, GTA 6 News & Leaks claimed that GTA 6 will be set in Vice City and will feature a female protagonist.

This would mark the first time that GTA has featured a female protagonist, which would be a huge step forward for representation in video games. The setting of Vice City is also interesting, as it hasn’t been featured in a mainline GTA game since 2002’s GTA: Vice City. If this leak is true, it would mean that Rockstar is finally returning to one of its most iconic settings.
GTA 5 has sold more than 90 million copies since its release in 2013. Based on these figures it’s no wonder Rockstar is keeping the fans on their toes with the release of GTA 6. Vice City is the second largest city in the Grand Theft Auto series behind only Liberty City. The city is considered one of the most iconic in video game history and fans have been clamoring for a return to Vice City since GTA: Vice City Stories was released in 2006. As for the female protagonist this would be a first for the GTA series. In the past Rockstar has come under fire for its portrayal of women in GTA games. In GTA 5 for example one mission has you kill a woman in order to frame her husband. Rockstar has yet to confirm or deny the rumors but if they are true we could see an announcement at E3 2019.
However, it’s important to take this leak with a grain of salt, as GTA 6 News & Leaks has been wrong about leaks in the past. So until Rockstar officially announces GTA 6, we won’t know for sure what the
